HAS BEEN CONTRACTED TO SUPPLY THE SHUTDOWN SYSTEM FOR THE OIL IMPORT TERMINAL AT BANTRY BAY, IRELAND.

THE REBUILT TERMINAL IS IN A HIGHLY SENSITIVE ENVIRONMENTAL AREA AND EXPOSED TO THE SEVERE WEATHER OF THE NORTH ATLANTIC. A SYSTEM THAT MONITORED WEATHER CONDITIONS AND CONTROLLED OIL PUMPING WAS AN ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENT.

OCEANTECH CONTROL CABINET WITH SOLAR AND WIND GENERATORS ON THE SPM

THE SYSTEM SUPPLIED ALLOWS THE CONTROL ROOM TO CONTROL THE PUMPING OPERATIONS REMOTELY USING íS COMPUTER BASED SCADA SYSTEM, "SCADAPLUS". TO ENSURE VERY HIGH RELIABILITY THE EQUIPMENT, INCLUDING THE RADIO COMMUNICATION PATHS TO THE TANKER MOORING BUOY, ARE DUAL REDUNDANT.

ON THE BUOY THE TELEMETRY SYSTEM CONTROLS AN HYDRAULIC ACTUATOR SYSTEM IN THE HULL WHICH ACTUATES THE PIPELINE MANIFOLD VALVES ON THE SEABED. THE SYSTEM IS DESIGNED TO CONTROL BOTH TANKER DISCHARGE INTO THE ONSHORE TANK FARM AND PUMPING ONSHORE TO EXPORT TANKERS.

THE SYSTEM ALSO MONITORS THE WEATHER AND SEA STATE DATA, AND OIL LINE PRESSURE AND TEMPERATURE. IT ALSO CONTROLS THE NAVIGATION EQUIPMENT OF THE BUOY.

BECAUSE OF THE VARIED NATURE OF WEATHER, THE BUOY IS POWERED BY A COMBINATION OF SOLAR AND WIND POWER.
